Please contact the Region 12 College Bowl Coordinator with any questions: Michelle Moosally (moosallym@uhd.edu). 2007 Tournament Results The 2007 Region 12 College Bowl Tournament is one of the largest single-region competitions in the country. This year 15 teams competed in a modified round robin at the University of North Texas. Many thanks to the fantastic and dedicated volunteers, the competitive yet congenial teams, and our generous host school. Congratulations to the Region 12 College Bowl Champions—the team from Baylor University: John Solter, Stephanie A. Bialko, Erik Ellis, Eric Headstream, and Sarah Swinney, with Coach Dr. Brent Froberg. They will represent us well at the National Tournament, May 4-6 at USC in Los Angeles. To earn their spot atNationals, they remained undefeated after facing tough competition from the three other teams in the playoffs. Midwestern State University earned a berth in the playoffs with a 7-0 record in the round robin, moving to a second place finish in the tournament With a 5-1 record, Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge moved into the playoffs to finish third. Harding University took the fourth play-off spot with a 5-1 record, finishing fourth overall. We also recognized our top All Star players. Jason Loy from Harding University took top honors with a 78.5 point-per-game average. Adam Halpert of Rice University and Ron Bailey of Midwestern State tied for second place with an average of 75 points per game. John Solter of Baylor rounded out the top four with an average of 72.5 points per game. Region 12 also recognizes one team that exhibits noteworthy good sportspersonship. This year’s award, as voted on by players and officials, went to the University of Houston-Downtown team. Statistics for all players and teams are available at the College Bowl website.
